Karnataka government to undertake special drive to bring back 53,133 out of schiool children

Bangalore: The Karnataka government will undertake one more special drive from September 15 , so as to trace and bring back to school the the remaining 53,133 out-of-school children, most of them said to be children of migrant workers.
 
A statement in this regard was submitted before the Karnataka high court which is hearing a suo motu PIL on out of school children. The government also informed the court that non governmental organizations (NGO) will also be involved in this exercise and many such organizations have been identified for this purpose.
 
A division bench headed by chief justice D H Waghela in the meantime suggested to the state government for involving Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan in the process.
