Swachhata Hi Seva - 2018

              Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (SBA) or Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) is a nation-wide campaign in India for the period 2014 to 2019 that aims to clean up the streets, roads and infrastructure of India's cities, towns, and rural areas.


              The objectives of Swachh Bharat include eliminating open defecation through the construction of household-owned and community-owned toilets and establishing an accountable mechanism of monitoring toilet use. Run by the Government of India, the mission aims to achieve an "opendefecation free" (ODF) India by 2 October 2019.

               As a precursor to the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Mahatma Gandhi, and in the run up to the 4th anniversary of Swachh Bharat Mission, it has been decided to observe Swachhata Hi Seva 2018 (SHS), aims at accelerating the jan andolan for realizing the vision of a clean India, further reinforcing the that ‘Sanitation is everyone’s business’.  

            In this regards, EMPRI organised the Swachhata campaign in and around Doresanipalya Reserve Forest Campus. Green pledge on ‘Cleanliness is Service’ was given to the EMPRI staff by Smt. Ritu Kakkar, IFS, Director General, EMPRI. The waste materials collected in the gunny bags was handed over to the BBMP for the disposal.
